I can't decide on which one to get . I'm gonna be a sophomore in high school next year & I need something to get my work done on & game lightly. I only plan on playing civilization V & other newer strategy games. Since i have consoles for other games .I was thinking a desktop because I'm only a high schooler so I wouldn't need it in class or at school. But then again, what if I want to watch movies or show off my computer at my girlfriends/friends house . I just don't know. I plan on spending around 1200$. Can anyone shed some light on this from experience?

Many people think a laptop is the way to go for convenience purposes, but in reality you probably won't take it many places. If you are doing ANYTHING other than writing documents, surfing the web, or listening to music, go with a desktop.
