Tritton Warheads are designed for console gaming (Call of Duty mainly) and the A50's should be avoided, wireless failure of a gaming headset really, as I said wireless causes many issues such as static, bad response times and general bad audio quality in some cases.
He wants a headset for console gaming..
You know this how exactly? He didn't mention it in any of his posts...
"OK I'm willing to spend up to 350$ for a new headset for gaming"

That implies in no way that it's console gaming, it could be PC Gaming too you know?

He said he was thinking the A40s or A50s which are mainly used for console gaming

Not at all, they're actually designed as PC Headsets unlike the Tritton Warheads, this is my last comment anyway because it's not helping the original poster in any way.

LOL IMO, don't spend over 60$. It's stupid, they all work similar and will last if you treat them right. Especially if you are an Xbox player, the next gen won't support current gen headsets. If you plan on buying the Xbox One, and you really want to spend all of that money to just have a few extra features, wait until the next Xbox is released.
Otherwise, just buy X12's. I have the older X11's since around 2009. They still work fine.
Silly idea, if he has that much to spend then let him, that doesn't mean he should spend it all but he certainly shouldn't go cheap with Turtle Beach. Just because they work fine it doesn't mean that the audio and microphone quality is great. You should really give more information though Focused! What platform are you using them for? What features will you be using and needing? What music do you listen to? What games do you play?
Personally I'd recommend against the A50's if you did go with Astro's, because wireless can cause lots of issues, and doesn't really have the best of reputations.
If you are a console gamer then you should probably wait because of the compatibility issues.
Spends 350 dollars on a headset, when it becomes obsolete in a few months. How am I the silly one here?
There is a higher chance it's console because well, we have a PC Gaming section as well. It would have made more sense to post that there.
My Turtle Beach quality is perfectly fine for my console gaming purposes. If you have 350$ plus another 100$ or so for a next gen headset if you are an Xbox gamer, then so be it. But it's wasteful.
Realistically, they do what they need and to purchase something with additional features and hardly better quality when most of the time people are casual gamers. I consider everything casual until you make enough money to support yourself solely from gaming.
A50's for 300$, or X12's for 60$? Practically, something cheaper would be worth it as long as it fulfills the purpose.

Again, you're just assuming that he's console gaming, although the chances are that he is it doesn't mean that you should jump to conclusions, his low post count shows that he's pretty new and won't be used to the sections anyway. As for your opinion on the sound quality, that's because you don't know any better, when you use high quality headsets and then try a Turtle Beach then the differences are obvious.

I thought that was your last post? Also why are you arguing with us whether he needs it for console or pc gaming? It doesn't matter because both the headsets work for console and pc.

I'm not quoting to reduce clutter.
Either way, most of the topics here are about console's. If he/she is talking about PC gaming, then I wouldn't know what to recommend him/her.
Simply put.
Spend 300$, spend another 100$ or so around November on another, or wait until November or December and spend the original amount.
It's practical, all I recommended was to not even bother yet depending on his/her platform. It's wasteful. I HAVE used Astro's, Tritons, etc.
I personally don't see a huge difference to spend an extra 240$, especially when it's something I only use maybe 2 hours a day. You are essentially paying for brand price. To be honest, my Turtle Beaches have lasted me longer then people's who paid 150$+ on headsets.
It's all about opinion. Personally, the quality increase isn't worth an extra 240$. If you have the money to blow on it, then go ahead. But I bet you can find something better to spend it on, or better yet, save it.
