AMD is good for gaming and its cheaper the only reason why the i5 3570k is better than the fx 8350 is that the i5 has better core preformace than amd, but either way its you're choice

My pick would be Intel, although it costs more you just have to pay a bit more for what in my opinion is better product ^^.

Possibly one of the worst things to ever ask on the internet which is better :L

As for the build, i'd recommend going dual channel for the ram 1x8GB > 2x4GB and change the CPU from the N520 > Hyper 212 EVO as it is a newer design, higher CFM and i believe you cannot change the fans on the N520..could be wrong on the last bit.

If it was me, I would go with the i5, in my opinion it is a better product but I could be seen as being bias because I'm kind of an intel fan boy.

I'm a intel fan boy so yeah.... Plus I find them better for gaming ;)

If i was you, i would chose a 4 core processor instead of an 8 core because you WONT be using the extra 4 cores unless you are rendering/editing.

If you do that then you would also have more to spend on your GPU.

I would say Intel generally gets better FPS on gaming if thats what you plan to do and to get any decent performance off a Bulldozer/Piledriver or Vishera you need to overclock the balls off it.

That said, no excuse not to wait for haswell.

I'd say get the i5 because if you ever wanted to upgrade you could go the i7 but with AMD there's not much room for upgrades. I like AMD and have a few PCs with amd cpus but they just don't compare against the i7 and if you wanted to upgrade that's what you'd get...It's up to you obviously but this isn't the best question to ask on the internet because of all the biased opinions. Mine might be a little bit biased to...not intentionally but..
