Why?
Look at Destiny. It is going to be one of those games where it will change even when you're not around. Therefore, you would need a constant internet connection going for that to happen.
So unless the PS version is going to be inferior to the Xbox version, they will have the internet connection requirement (maybe not as harsh as Xbox but meh)
Also, used games. I believe that PS will follow suit. I think this is a Publisher thing. Microsoft knows that they would lose sales over this, I think they went out of their way to get us a lot more games this time.
That's my theory. The fight isn't over yet. XB1 Potential >>> PS4 potential.
