I would go with the Elgato because of the shear size of it. Not because it performs better or anything. It's just less cables and smaller size. If you have the few extra bucks for it, I would go with it!

Quality wise you won't find a noticeable difference, but the Elgato is smaller and from what I've heard the software is nicer. Plus it only requires 2 cords, while the PVR requires a jungle of cords. So it's really just the size. Lol.

Elgato, because its software is easy to use, only 3 three cables needed. And its the size of your palm.

Personally I would go for the PVR 2 but is there any point in getting a capture card now with next gen consoles coming out soon?

Personally i would go for the Elgato GameCapture.

The Elgato Game Capture HD is smaller, i think looks more appealing and has less cables. Also the software that comes with it works for Macs if you have one, which the HDPVR doesn't.

These 2 videos will be helpful when trying to chose between the 2. The second video shows both the screen recorders side by side in terms of quality/audio etc...
