Really the biggest factor. I'm not hating on either console, I might even switch to PS4. But to include LIVE tv (normally you'd have to pay a good amount for anyway) in a console that can play games in a snap, yeah $100 is a good amount in return.

Before I say anything I want to make it clear that I will be getting X1 so I'm not hating on it. But the way you say it, it seems like you think X1 will be a source of TV without paying an actual company like comcast or AT&T. Thats wrong. You still have to have TV which you pay for seperately. X1 will just act like a DVR box. But when you pay for TV, you obviously already have a DVR box so thats why everyone thinks that the TV feature is pointless.

-Dream wrote A lot of people are switching to PS4 (priced at $399) because of Xbox One's price ($499). Some people think Xbox1 is way overpriced. I don't think so, because PS4 is pretty much only games. I'm not watching the livestream so correct me if I'm wrong. But, the PS4 really only plays games, bluray, internet and whatnot. Touchscreen controller. $399 is a good price for that.

Now, Xbox One. It has TV, internet, bluray, games, etc. It has a lot more than PS4 does. Especially live TV. Fast switching, kinect. A crazy controller. That should be a lot more than $499 if you asked me. So, I think for what Xbox1 is bringing, $499 is a great price. Mainly internet, live tv, and games.

Basically it comes down to PS4 mainly having games.
Xbox has tv, kinect, and games. So I don't see why everyone is hating on X1's price.

Your thoughts?

I don't blame you for being incorrect if you didn't watch the stream, but that's not accurate. Both plays games, both have blu-ray, both have internet, both have nearly identical social media apps, I believe Sony's controller would cost more to manufacture considering it has touch screen interface, and yes the Xbox One has kinect, but the PS4 also has it's own equally powerful camera coming with it as well. As for your TV part with the Xbox One, really all the One is doing is plugging your TV box that you already have and just playing it through the console, so no expense on it's part, and the few more features it does have for TV is software, not hardware.

The PS4 actually has more expensive hardware inside of it including it's video card, better ram etc. Not hating on the Xbox One at all, but the fact is that Microsoft simply chose to price theirs higher (not so sure it was a good idea) but they did and it's simply a business thing.

So, TECHNICALLY speaking (calm down fanboys) the PS4 has better hardware for the price ($100 cheaper) and features including you can trade, sell, lend, and importantly play offline without a restriction (unlike the Xbox One). That's simply how it is whether you like it or not. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean you shouldn't get the One, it all comes down to preference, if you're willing to pay the additional $100 and are willing to deal with additional restrictions and enjoy Xbox over Playstation than get whatever you're heart desires.
Now THAT is how you have a disscusion about a console. No all caps rage screaming fanboying, I'm gifting you gold on Friday.

I could never fall into the Xbox One bandwagon. Microsoft is full of greed, same with Apple.

Paying online is nothing where I am, 1 year $70 easy, It's the only argument sony fanboys can bring to the table, "The xbox one cost more" "The online is paid" It's been the same throughout the 360 era, and they will carry on, Overall the Xbox One is brilliant, it's hardware is amazing for a console, and the games they shown were fantastic.

The PS4 hardware is the same, if not better. The Kinect? The PS4 will have a camera equal to the abilities of the Kinect. The touch controller? That must be a lot to manufacture.

The price is very important considering the similarities between the consoles. They will both have internet access, but an Xbox 1 will be able to connect to a cable dish? Which I think is pretty pointless, it's like instead of switching from HDM1 to HDM2, you can go to your dashboard. That really deserves $100 difference?

$499 is way to much for a console even though I can afford it

The Xbox One should of been something like $425

lol "crazy controller" is one of your arguments towards that thing being a reasonable price all the Xbox One has is live tv and fast switching over it not hating on either console but really PS4 is looking much better right now, btw there controller could be classified as "crazy" also, plus in ten years if I want to find an old PS4 game and they don't produce new copies I can get a used one no problem, in ten years with the Xbox One your shit out of luck unless you have your first copy.

also, don't forget that Xbox One comes with the new Kinect and PS4 does not include the move. And the Kinect has an 100 dollar value

Thats why Playstation Plus now had Online Multiplayer as a feature right?

That sir, is not official. Sony hasn't confirmed it yet. But still PS+ will be the same as Ps3 including discounted games, some free stuff.

At the end of the Sony Conference, right before Destiny, it was announced that online multiplayer will be available only with PS+, using multiplayer as a benefit to try and make more money. If you watched the stream it was confirmed.

xbox one ships with kinect

ps4 doesn't ship with move

so that's why there's a price difference. if you want the move, you would pay the same price.

the defining factor will be if microsoft loosens up a little. i think the ps4 will have more problems with xbox

You have got that a little wrong. The bangwagon is all on PS4. Not too many post saying "I'm switching to xbox" id say the bandwagon is saying "oh my god xbox one is just a dvr and you cant play used games so im switching to sony"

Wrong. The Xbox One also comes bundled with the new Kinect 2, a new integral part of the system with instant response and voice/motion commands and gestures ONLY using your voice and body, which can equate to the higher price. The PS4 does not include Move with it, nor has it been integrated to make the system work better.
