I realize this might seem like a weird idea, but it does make sense to me.
Some aliens land on a planet, inhabited by a population of creatures in the state of development that Earth was 8000 years ago. These men, in their still quite primitive state, are of course completely amazed by the ships that they came in, and the technology that they have. Priests, or higher members of a tribe would try to befriend the aliens the only way they know how to, by giving them gifts, and bowing to show them how much they like them. The aliens might perhaps study the tribe, teach them some basic stuff, and then leave with the promise of return.
The tribe men, eagerly awaiting the return, will tell the story of this visit to their children, perhaps make drawings about them, or if they are more advanced, erect statues and buildings. Later on they will write the stories down.
It is known that primitive people do this. I don't remember what island or country it was anymore, but in the second World War, the allies used some islands in the Pacific to station their planes. Some of the islands had primitive tribes on them, and they gave them some food, and were generally good to them.
Then the second World War ended, and the island wasn't necessary as a station for planes anymore, and was abandoned.
Years later some people came to the island, and found the tribe on the island had been carving giant planes out of wood, and praying to them. They had formed an entire culture around what they had seen but did not understand.
So my question is this. Does it sound plausible to you that what ancient civilisations have seen as Gods were actually aliens? I know it sounds far-fetched, but to me the whole idea of a God sounds far-fetched anyway.

This may spark a religious debate however. I Agree with this but in an even larger scale, I believe that all of the gods that are known through Greek/Roman/Christianity and every other religion were all Extraterrestrials from outer space. My reasoning for this belief is due to me witnessing a U.F.O over my yard about 4 or so years ago and also watching Ancient Aliens. And if you really think about it how can some of the things in the world like Stone Henge and Puma Punku, how could those rocks be moved and placed or cut with such precision and technology that we can not even create an exact replica of the cuts today, hundreds or thousands of years ago with the primitive technology that we had at the time. However another thing that intrigues my mind is what if Human evolution and technological advances has actually happened once before thousands of years ago but somehow a catastrophe struck and we were sent back in our technological advanced which we had done?

This is a topic that a friend of mine brings up frequently..
But it is a possibility.
The ancient people didn't know what they were experiencing, so they simply called the things they were seeing, the technology they had, things like "flying boats". Which does make you wonder.
We also know that the ancient people believed in many gods, the "God of the Sun", "God of the Earth", ect.
Well, the ancient people may of not known what an "Alien" was, as we know and explain it today. So they would worship these things, that they believed to be "Gods".
Also, the Pyramids, how could the ancient people build these large things, out of the material they made it from, and doing it all with everything so exact? We would have a hard time doing the same thing, with today's modern technology.
Well, possibly with some help? right?
It's really hard to explain, but I think you get the general idea.
I personally take this as a possibility, but I don't necessarily believe in the idea.

These theories do make sense, and I do enjoy reading them etc.
However the only trouble I have with believing them is why there was such an abundance of these "aliens" during biblical times, of alien-human interactions, and so few that are documented/taken seriously these days.
As some people claim that disasters like the story of Noah were orchestrated by aliens, and that said aliens, or other aliens, warned Noah of the pending disaster. I just find it odd how that only happened in biblical times, and why if this was actually the case, why did these aliens not warn us of the boxing day tsunami, or any other similar natural catastrophe.

In the Old Testament and New Testament they both talk about aliens but they do not speak of God being an alien
