Hypothetically speaking this is what would happen, but we all know that if they're not shutting down 360's servers, they're probably not gonna shut down one's servers for a while. And probably by then just remove the 24 hour check all together....

Yes in theory you're right, but in the real world this won't happen. Microsoft aren't going to go under anytime soon. Also even if in another decade or something they do release a new console, im sure they will maintain the servers as thats what they are doing for the 360. Actually, the XboxOne uses the same servers as the 360, so the servers wont go down any time soon

The original xboxs servers were shut down 8 years after it came out? What more do you want? The Xbox original release in 2001, 360 in 2005 and servers were shut down 4 years after the xbox 360s release. They want you to buy the next system that is going to come out in the next decade. And if they wanted to they would just turn off the checks with and update to the dashboard. And microsoft will not die they have about 30million more members so even if those 30million left it would still have the same amount as playstation. You are just an uneducated playstation fanboy.
