Not really trying to make this a "perfectly structured" post, just trying to explain how the Xbox One is better in terms of hardware vs the PS4. This might sound a bit technical, so ya. Correct me if I'm wrong on some stuff, but just kinda typed this in one sitting.
Anyways, so we know the Ps4 has GDDR5 band-withed at about 176gb/s, problem is there is no buffer (data buffer). Meanwhile you look at the Xbox one, which has 32mb SRAM embedded to use as a buffer for the DDR3. Xbox has 8gb on single 1gb chips, which in turn those 8gb chips can buffer to SRAM turning 68gb bandwidth into more around 300gb/s, so microsoft designed smarter but the SRAM is pretty damn expensive. One reason why xbox is "faster".
So ya, regarding the Ps4's AMD Jaguar which is supposedly an 8 core CPU is an APU, which means it splits with the graphics processor also meaning it is going to be slower than the xbox ones true CPU 8 core. Also not to mention sony is going low voltage on their "8 core".
Now, because Ps4 has an APU and Xbox has a CPU, you are getting more core to core from the Xbox. Even if it is "supposedly" underpowered because the CPU isn't sharing its processes with the graphics, it is trading them off. So the Xbox One will for example have 3ghz of solid processing per core while the Ps4 may only have a 2.6 and .4 of each core for graphics. Anyways having 8 cores is pointless, seeing as how it only ever peaks at about 4 cores for any game. Remember, games don't need more than 12ghz processing, look at Crisis 3, 6-10ghz.
So, while reading some articles on the Xbox One vs Ps4 I came across this this one, and I found this quote to be interseting: "However, the Xbox One will run on an 8-core 64-bit x86 Jaguar AMD CPU/GPU combo known as an APU. In the case of the PS4, Sony also opted for an 8-core x86-64 AMD Jaguar, but the GPU is about one third
more powerful in the ps4" So this is basically referring back to what I talked about before, but I'm going to go in a little more detail here.
Ok so like I said, the Ps4 is using the Jaguar in a APU format whereas Xbox One isn't, meaning the Jaguar in the Ps4 is slower at processing, because there is not as much ghz
because its using more for graphics, thus you see console freezing and poor performance (this goes back to the E3 demos where some games were freezing up hard). Oh god, but graphics! We must have graphics! Yawn, anyways the thing with cores is, you want at least 2-3 high powered cores, you don't want to remove processing power from your cores for the graphics card because the game only runs on the first 2-4. If u have 2-4 cores that where by dipped into by the graphics, they are going to run slower right?
Just to reiterate on that last sentence, in a bit more understandable detail. So, Ps4 cores are being dipped into ie. if they are 3ghz, the graphics are taking anywhere from 1-.4ghz from each core, meaning that the game only has anywhere from 2-3.6ghz to use for the game while the rest that was taken is for graphics. Now games use the first 4 cores and a faster core is more reliable than one that's prebogged down, thus a 2core system that is 4ghz a core vs a 4core system that is 2ghz a core, the 2 core system is faster. So in "layman's" terms, the Ps4 is scooping power from the CPU for the graphics and thus doesn't have as much for the processing ie. 3ghz a core is now 2-2.6ghz each core. The way microsoft is doing it, the last 4 cores are going to be used for processing graphics, this is the way it should be. Split the cores up by cores instead of by ghz. Sony is basically scooping ghz off each core for graphics. It will bite them in the butt to say the least.

so the xbox is a little faster than the ps4 yet whats the point when you cant play offline for more than 24h? oh noes my internets gone down for a few days looks like my xbox is inactive + the fact they make you need to buy live each year to use your xbox so thats why MS = failed console this time around.
and no im not no ps fanboy or pc fanboy im just saying the facts

Here's a fact I think you're unaware of: You need to purchase PS Plus to "use" your PS4, just as much as they have for Xbox. An example of this is online multiplayer.
Also, lets be honest: If you're ISP cant solve an internet outage that lasts more than a few hours, you're not paying the right company for internet...
