Any murder charge given in the UK means the accused if found guilty will be given a life sentence. A life sentence doesn't usually mean life though. 15 years is the minimum for a life sentence and the accused is given a parole hearing. Depending on whether the jury believes that the prisoner is considered a danger to society or not.
In some cases however the accused can be given a higher life sentence eg. Ian Huntley, who got a minimum sentence of 40 years.
If you can tell me one hacker who has had a life sentence then please show me a source.
