Online isn't free. It's like $60 a year and you need a PS Plus subscription to play online.
And if it's the same as the PS3 you can't change your name at all. You need to make a new account.

PS4 is an okay console, but I think I am staying with xbox.

Thought i would try both and see how i feel after the first year but as it stands i am a xbox fan boy in the current generation

I'm sticking with Xbox, i was going to move to PC but decided i had more friends on Xbox.
