People tend to bury their emotions and problems.
In a way, it is hard to hold sympathy for someone who does this, the same way it is hard to sympathize with a child who doesn't know where babies come from, the answer is right in front of them, help is there, but they don't seek it.
In another way, they have my pity, because bullying is the largest cause of isolation and isolation leads to feeling worthless.

Victims of bullying simply need to realize that they are not worthless, everything else needed to end their ordeal follows that quite smoothly.
