THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE ... only Sony hide it in small print and Microsoft have openly stated what they are doing. Time will tell.

So you might have guessed I am getting the XBox One... I am always online and recently when Sky had issues in my local exchange I used my mobile as a hotspot, I use Kinect to control movies etc. The vast majority of my 11 yr old sons friends are moving to PS4 so this in itself is a massive selling point (lol)

At the end of the day people have to read every comment take out what they want and make their own decision.

People are getting it because its cheaper.
If you are a casual gamer who just wants to play a bit of fifa or cod then get a PS4
but if you have the money and want all the extra features get an Xbox One

I couldn't agree with you more, but FOREVER is a slightly misleading, Sony only loan you those "free" games until you leave them at which point they no longer work, whatever titles MS offer over these 4-5 months you keep even if you cancel your gold account and return to the free Silver account.

I have been an Xbox fanboy with good reason up until this generation. The Xbox One is littered with problems and to list them all would take forever. However, what appears to be happening is that Microsoft has absolutely no clue what they are doing. Where the Xbox360 is an amazing console Microsoft has decided to turn the next gen into a media center, which no gamer wants and a gimmick, the kinect operates horribly and is prone to damage. Furthermore the Xbox One has a serious privacy issue with the kinect always having to be on and I would take it upon myself if I owned an Xbox One to mod it so the mic and video camera would not work. On top of all this Microsoft has decided to support drm which only hurts them more and in the end Sony looks at the train wreck happening next door and does the exact opposite.

So what can we learn from this?

Microsoft is money hungry and believes that just because its a new xbox everyone will buy it but in reality Sony is learning from Microsoft's mistakes and are probably going to clean house.
Good on you Sony.

You keep the game as long as you have PS+. Of course it will go away once you lose PS+ but once you get it again all previous titles you have downloaded like full games and such will be available to play again. This was a way to get people to keep on buying PS+ which I don't have a problem with but some other people will I suppose. The free games for gold will be fan favorite games but most likely they will be pre-2011 games. I will be very surprised if they pull out a recent COD or Battlefield 3 or something. This deal only lasts until December 31st 2013 while the free games you get from PS+ will last forever as long as you have PS+. Me, being both a purchaser of XBL Gold and PS+, for deals and such I lean more to PS+ than XBL Gold and since Sony is making people charge it means better servers for the PS4 and so many problems as last gen with the PS3.

Xbone's had a lot of backlash lately (Even from me), but I'm sticking to it. For the sole purpose of the "shared game library" with 10 family members & the fact that I'd only have to pay for one online membership (Because I'm still sticking with my Xbox 360 too). All this "used game" BS & the camera sucks though, same with connecting every 24 hours. Hope they change their policies, but the idea is that I still love Xbox titles like Gears, Halo, & Titanfall looks promising. The fact that any game my family members get, I can play too is a huge plus. Hope this feature isn't "played out".

Above all, I just don't see myself paying for two online subscriptions & single-player games when my cousin will get them anyways, so I can play them.

PS4 may look like the better choice by gaming power, cost & less restrictions, but I'm still a 360 owner & I'm paying for gold anyways.

Just go with whatever console your friends buy, simple as that. You don't wanna buy a PS4 while all your friends get an Xbox One & you're all alone on the PS4 or visa versa. But PS4 is the better choice - it now has Party Chat, supports used games, no "mandatory connection to live every 24 hrs", no kinect, the controller looks dope while xbox looks gay.

The PS4 is mainly more affordable with what it offers you but the Xbox One has more cool features thus making it more expensive.

The only good thing about the PS4 in my eyes is the Playstation Plus other than that I would have to say Xbox One is more creative.
