Can someone help me. i downloaded my friends cfg onto my usb and i edited it and i was wondering how i would like make the edited menu on to the buttons_defualt and make it work if i get the help i am asking for i Will +REP

Oh yeah. So you should've opened it as a .CFG patch in the first place. Maybe it was called buttons_default.cfg maybe he named to like xxSEAHORSESILOVExx.cfg or something
You're done editing it, so now save it to the root of your USB & name it buttons_default.cfg Do not mispell & if it asks to overwrite hit yes. Make sure it's on the root of your USB. Then do it normally, find a CFG infection and oulaa!
