Title says all, i know it seems stupid but I'm looking to get a 1 tb wd caviar black for 75$ on Newegg while its on sale, also, do you think WD caviar black will upgrade near september or october, if not good, if so damn.

Lol, if the HDD is not being used, then no, it cannot break.

I imagine nothing would happen to it, Just put it where nothing can fall on it, Cool dry place, Dropped a phone on my external and it no longer works :huh:

Any new revision of the drive will be minor, so don't worry about that. Hard drive prices are still coming down and they're a little unpredictable, so buying it now at $75 is a pretty good idea. Don't worry about leaving the drive out of use; it's using it that causes wear.
