A lot of X1 fans who liked the online features that would have been offered with the X1 DRM are upset that they're now gone.

In particular, a lot of people wanted to see the new 'Family Sharing Network' to be integrated that basically would allow up to 10 people to share any game with another friend online for free.

Or so we thought, here is a Microsoft engineer explaining how the feature would have worked: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Heres what basically sums up his whole blog about it: "This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour."

What he's saying is that the network would have allowed you to try out a friends game for around 45 minutes, not actually play it. So it was more of a Family Demo Network than actually sharing the game.

EDIT: To clarify, X1 users will still have all the cloud features and the ability to save and buy games online. All this really changes, is the 'Family Sharing Network' which now we know wasn't very good to begin with.

What I was most interested in and would love to see return is the games working off the Cloud System.

This was a revolution, something new, but they got rid of it de to people complaining, and I didn't even complain once.

But now, I want to complain, i'm quite upset they changed it.

That hasn't changed due to no DRM. Source: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

"Our vision around Xbox One and what you can do because of the power of both the architecture of the console, and also the cloud and the Xbox Live service, remains unchanged," Xbox Chief Product Officer Marc Whitten told Joystiq.

So no worries about that.

But from what I refer to, everything is written on the Disc....

I might need to research some more.

Lack of DRM basically gave people who want to buy the game via a disc more options, like trading it, selling back with no restrictions.

It doesn't mean you can't still buy the games online from the marketplace.

Microsoft has already **** itself.
-proposing DRM, which would have ruined the used games industry
-Kinect always on and always listening (which they are not changing)
-Mandatory online check every 24 hours. While majority of people have Internet, there are many instances where they are in a situation where they do not have access to Internet and would like to play

Even though they removed most of these policies, the people who were on the fence have a bad taste in their mouth about Microsoft and are more than likely to turn to Sony.

It changed more then you say.
Before you could install games to the HDD and they would register to the cloud, allowing them to be played anywhere without a disc. There's one thing.
