In Texas i believe they are illegal to have ON, while driving in the street. In other states you can drive with them on but, if they are flashing then thats a auto-ticket right there, consort your local police department on if they are legal or not. that would be the best way to find out

It also depends on how lucky you are to be honest.
Me and my dad had a Skyline that we customized to look like Brian's one from Fast and furious. My dad didn't get pulled once and the car looked remotely like this:

But that was a couple of years ago. We had to sell it for reasons that I cba to mention. But my dad drove it around a couple of times a week, it wasn't our main car and wasn't out a lot of the time but yea.

lue is not.. Red is Not.. Green is Not.. but read onI called ISP and asked about blue neons, (i have blue interior ones and put blue underglow on too. after putting them on I decided to make sure they were ok) they said they can't be obvious and they can't flash all over. I then talked to my neighbor who works for the local PD and he said he wouldn't bother me. Then last night I was pulled over and told to shut them off. This guy had recently graduated from the acadamy and was fresh on the law. Because I had now been told two different answers by 3 different cops I was very confused. So i took a trip to the sheriffs office and had them explain it to me. Luckily I was able to talk to the dept. that pulled me over. After he talked to his commanding officer that had spent more time on the force he ended up saying that my lights were ok, sort of... he did pull up the letter of the law and it clearly says no blue lights unless emergency.. but it also states that this person can not be impersonating an emergency vehicle which I clearly wasn't and the dept, said I wasn't and that he wouldn't pull me over again now after he learned that it wasn't a big deal... What I'm basically saying is that the law says no and if you dont look anything like a cop you probably wont get pulled over but if you get a cop with an attitude he is technically allowed to cite you. As it was explained to me, it all depends on how each cop interprets that law. Some may say its cool, some might say no. Hope this was helpfull!!!

I heard that it is illegal in the UK as it distracts other drivers and can distract them causing accidents.

I know for a fact that blue neons are illegal everywhere because they are considered to be impersonating police cars.
