Yesterday I came off my bike. I thought I may make a topic about it and send a message to anyone who has a bike or who is getting one.
Me and a few of my friends have mopeds, they are only 50cc but derestricted they are fairly quick, 50mph+.
My friends came round mine and asked if I wanted to go play some football so I did, we rode down to the local park and played for a bit. After that we decided to go to the shop and get some stuff.
This is where it went wrong, on the way we were on a normal road into an estate, not a very busy road. I was travelling about 35mph at the time when there was a small bend and I went over a bump in the road, I didn't see it and it swung my handlebars in the opposite direction I was travelling, this caused my handlebars to wobble side to side very fast, it gradually got worse and the bike slid from underneath me. I landed on my helmet and on my right side and rolled. The worse part is I was only in a t-shirt. Massive mistake. I have ripped my right arm up and shoulder, left upper arm, and my hip. I did have gloves on and they are completely wrecked showing what would of happened to my hands.
When it happened, people came out there houses and helped me, called an ambulance. The ambulance came and put me on a spinal board, put a neck brace on me and took me to hospital.
Due to the fact I didn't put my hands out when I came off, due to the fact I couldn't as it happened to fast, I managed not to break any bones. But suffered bad cuts. I am bandaged all up
My bike didn't get of lightly either, here is a photo of it:
As you can see all the rear panel is smashed up and cracked in half. The front is scratched and my suspension forks are bent which have stopped the wheel from moving.

My message is, even if your bike is only 50cc, 100cc, 125cc always where protective gear. Especially a helmet, padded jacket and gloves.
I was stupid enough to only wear a t-shirt and now I am in pain and can hardly move But I have learned a harsh lesson.

Thank you mate, I am ok, just hard to do anything. Don't have much movement in my right arm and left leg.

Hey! I got a moped to (derbi senda extreme) My moped is doing around 120km/h (70cc Metrakit)
And i can tell that mopeds is not made for doing that speed and absolutly not a scooter. So i can surely tell that u need to drive really safe with the moped with that speed...
