it works but when I start up the split screen match and try to press select then up it just lags when I press select what do I do never had mod menu on ps3 only on xbox that's why im such a noob please help me

Press Select and dpad up then goto private match and then press select and d-pad up again, enjoy

it still didn't work this time I went to private match pressed select up and then backed out went to split screen and pressed select up again I saw the mod menu flash on the screen and then it lagged and I pressed select again and it just showed me the scoreboard
