I was looking through my old stuff, and I found an iPod Touch 3G from wayyyy back.
I remember that it was on iOS 4.3.5! I put it on the tethered jailbreak, and I obviously let it die because I forgot about it. So now that I want to use it again, i'm trying to use redsn0w 0.9.9b1 to just boot and I have to put it in DFU mode. I know for a fact i'm doing it correctly, because it's the same way i've always done it. But when I try to do it, a message comes up & says USB Device Setup Wizard, and it trys to set it up as a USB device. That is all it does, It should be in DFU mode, but it's doing this stupid stuff! If anyone can please help me, I will rep you for as long as TTG is out. Thanks.

Do you have iTunes installed?
It usually does that when it can find the driver for the device.

At first I didn't, but then I tried to do a fresh restart and that didn't work.
And it's acting like it is a USB device instead of an apple iPod.
