I was thinking about getting one.. if it is still worth it what console should i get? And where you recommend me to purchase one? I live in the US btw. Thanks!!

It all depends on what your going to do with your JTAG, I recommend getting a Jasper if your going to be doing offline mods, spending roughly 3-5 hours offline on it, But if you want to host lobbies and do recovery's I recommend you getting a Xenon or Falcon, but watch out if you get a Xenon, they are prone of getting RROD.

Not if you want to host 1337 10th lobbies but if you want to enjoy homebrew and customization (aka what they are meant for) then yes.
