Yes. This UVA student had "an initial offence" for walking to her car with bottled water, cookie dough, and ice cream. And so a group of "Alcoholic Beverage Control agents" thought the water was alcohol, and the tried to detain her, and she tried to flee because she could not recognize the badges that the agents were trying to show. And as any intelligent person would do if they were defenseless and surrounded by a group of men charging her, she ran. She was then arrested, and sent to jail. Welcome to 'murrica!

They should pay her.
No one deserves to go through that for free.
I don't know if this stuff just doesn't happen in England or it's simply never reported but America is incredibly strict by the looks of things o_o

That's not right at all. Some men have some apologizing to do. I thought there was more logic in the world than this. Clearly not.

our justice system is terrible, people go to jail for stuff like this but get probation for more serious crimes, you have a kid facing 8 years for posting on facebook and someone that gets house arrest for vehicular homicide, kind of sad

Wow, so stupid... Even if it was alcohol, if she wasn't drinking it, its not illegal!
But I remember a while back, so kid had a 'Monster Energy' and was tazerd to the ground as officers thought it was alcohol and he wouldn't drop it..
What's the world coming to? :/

The US is taking this a little bit too far. There are various serious crimes going on in America at the moment, i believe that they justice system should be focusing on those.

Haha. That sucks for her. There is nothing she could have done. Our justice system is messed up...
