They didn't concede that many chances against Tahiti. Maybe one or two. But they did concede a lot of chances against Nigeria.

Remember also, the last game Spain lost prior to this match was against England. ;)

Wouldn't call them overrated, they're one of, if not the best nation in the world at football.
