I've been thinking about the society we live in, and how messed up it is, and I hate to think whats going to happen 20 years down the line, what do you all think?

The world has always been bad, and simply because there's more people and now we have the media to spread news around of atrocities being committed, things seem like they're at their worst.
I think that humanity is actually getting 'better', we are becoming more and more advanced.
If we get past our reliance on fossil fuels and find a source of good, sustainable energy then we'll eliminate the motive for much of the worlds suffering.

We may eliminate certain motives for suffering, but we will never eliminate the suffering we see throughout the world.

It is human nature to fight. We always want to be better than our counterpart, whether that's being better at, relating to this site, video games than someone else, or being a wealthier nation than your neighboring nation. An irrational, blinding, lust for control unfortunately is within us all. Especially for those who are in a position of power, or in a position of potential power.
These are qualities the human race will always possess, and so, there will always be reasons for us to make war, and create misery.

I understand the problems of today's society, but please define 'messed up'.

One thing I think is messed up is how when people can be anonymous they will do anything to see you fail or get hurt.
