Pretty simple question, which do you prefer for editing? I do graphic design and want to start on editing but i don't know which to go with. I've heard both have their strong points over the other but was looking for some help from the TTG community.
Thanks

I would definitely go with After Effects because you can use some great RedGiant plugins with it.

It all depends on your style, after effects is a little more easier to get the sick effects. Vegas can do the sick effects also but it takes more time and you have to be more elegant with vegas. For a starter i would go with After Effects to get you started.

I would say use a bit of both to start, (thats what i did) but eventually move on to after effects it is better in my opinion all i recommend doing is learning the keyboard shortcuts, it will help you a lot.

I use Sony Vegas mostly but AAE for adding effects to my edits.
Apart from that I can't use AAE, I taught myself how to use Sony Vegas and I can't learn AAE by even people teaching me it. I'm determined to learn to use it though as it is better for editing but harder.
