I currently have my Macbook streaming music to my console through Connect360, however it never plays the next track, almost as if it was on repeat.

Are you selecting a specific song? or clicking a playlist? The Xbox 360 has an odd bug (or maybe it was intentional?) that if you select just one song it will play ONLY that song, you must select a playlist for it to change songs.
