Type: Over Ear

Listening From: PC
Details: I plan on using them for gaming so they need a mic. Also Durability would be a plus on them.

Budget: $180 w/shipping
Music preferences: rap, hip hop, dubstep, classic rock, some instrumental, lots of gaming and general youtube videos.
Type/form-factor: over ear
Open or closed: closed
Listening from: galaxy s4 and some 5.1 channel audio on my motherboard
Details: Now that I am getting a steady income, I can start getting some of the things that I want. I was thinking about the m50's as I have heard a lot of good things about them, but when I think about it, I could also use a nice speaker setup for this room. I currently have the creative aurvana live headphones and they work nice, but I haven't ever gotten the chance to hear any better.
If I do go with speakers (which I am heavily leaning towards), would I need a better sound card than what's on my board? The only thing I really wouldn't need for the speakers is the wiring. My friend has a lot of extra 16g from his system.

I've got these - and love them: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
These are good: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
These are also good, and can be customised like the COP: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
EDIT: What motherboard do you have? If it's for general music and gaming, most likely not.
Just bought some of these: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Heard good things about them, and 5 pounds is a steal. I'll do some modding and let you know what they're like.

Looks like I've had some things wrong about my board. Never really looked at it until now. I always just assumed for the price. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Anyways, I'm gonna hold off on the headphones for now, but do you have any experience with bookshelf speakers? I would go with the Dayton b652 because of the price, but the new version is awful.

Possibly wrote Budget: $50-$100 USDI'm not one to talk here, but I can honestly say that the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] are very good for the price. The sound quality is great, along with a solid 7.5/10 on the comfort scale. Pair them with a [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] mic and you'll be all set to go.

Keep in mind that the cable on the live is a little too thin for the zm1 to latch on to, but you can simply wrap it around your neck in a loose noose and it'll work just fine.

If I'm honest - no. The only reason I recommended what I did was because they're incredibly popular cans amongst bass heavy music lovers on headphone forums.

What's your budget on bookshelves? And do you have an amp of any sort? If not, then you might want to go with active speakers.

About $140. I won't be buying until this weekend since I just blew $180 on a new CPU.
As for the amp, I do not have one. If I need a bigger budget, just let me know. I'm not really looking for any active speakers, unless they have great sound for the price. Also, can we Make them black? My desk is black and walls are gray. I don't want to throw off the color scheme.

This is the best cheap speaker I can think of: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
And as for amps, well, those are just as expensive. This is the absolute cheapest amp I could recommend for it: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
