Gearbox Software has finally revealed that the next piece of Borderlands 2 DLC will be the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge. The standalone DLC arrives in October for $5 (roughly 3.99) and features a brand new map where you can take on high-level enemies to earn new, rare loot.

This bloody gauntlet is brought to you by Patricia Tannis from the original Borderlands and allows enemies to over-level and create somewhat impossible challenges for all you sadists out there.

Furthermore, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will also feature an increased level cap, taking the current one from level 61 to level 72.

Alongside this announcement at PAX Australia, Gearbox announced that they will release Headhunter DLC packs. These new expansions will serve up fresh missions and unique boss fights to plough through, but a price and date of when these are coming is still to be confirmed.

The first Headhunter pack sees the return of T.K. Baha from Borderlands Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC and is called Bloody Harvest. T.K. sends you off to fight the comically named Jacques OLantern who, as you mightve guessed, is a massive pumpkin boss that will grant new customisation options for your Vault Hunter once hes beaten.

And finally, there will be a free update heading to Borderlands 2 thats set to add more backpack, ammo and bank slots. And therell be new character skins and heads coming soon too.

Were pleased that the Borderlands 2 universe has been extended yet again, but its not quite the new character class we predicted. Still, theres a chance that Gearbox Software may announce another big wedge of DLC at the Community Day on September 14th, so keep those fingers crossed Vault Hunters.
