I'm going into my second year, studying CGI/concept design, 3D programs such as 3ds Max, zBrush, game engines, and even blender can use up over 64gb of ram when in use. Also matte work and CGI work in Adobe After effects can require well over 64gb of ram. The computer I use now in our studio has 64gb ram and still can have a hard time running adobe products smoothly, I also enjoy pc gaming too, which is why I want something which can run everything I need without struggle.

if your going to spend that much why not go for a next gen cpu?
And why the hell are you spending $600 on ram???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
get a ssd instead of that much ram :L
You don't need a 850w for that setup just get a 600-750w...
for the case the gun metal colour looks a lot nicer I know as I have the black one and it shows dust quite bad.. (glossy)

HIV wrote if your going to spend that much why not go for a next gen cpu?I'm a graphics designer, 3D and Modeling programs require a high amount of ram, Adobe products as well can use well over 64gb of ram, depending what you are doing in them. My budget it $2,300 Iv saved most of my money from working the past two months for this build. This build is mainly for graphics design, although I do love to pc game as well. I may have to lower the wattage on the setup though, thanks for the feedback!

Ok fair enough, but i'd still suggest going for next gen CPu's and a SSd to put your most used programs and os on.

I'd honestly go with 32GB of ram bro, 64GB is NOT needed for what you do, I do the same things as you, and I only have 24GB of ram. I get along just fine. I think you can save money by getting 32GB of ram, and upgrading your CPU a bit, go with a next gen.

Lets see, excessive amount of wasted money on RAM, no HDD, go with Windows 7 Home premium cheaper and about the same functions, I agree with the other posters on buying a new 4th gen CPU. Go for 32gb or lower even though your a graphics designer you could put the money to upgrades or to anything else you wish.
