I use this motherboard

I was wondering if it has good enough to overclock my FX 6300

You will be able to, but not much. I'm not by any stretch of the imagination an expert on chipsets, but I know that to get some heavy AM3+ overclocks you want a 990X/FX board. I don't even know what yours is but I believe it is below the 970A chipset which is at best average for overclocking.

EDIT: It's a 760G chipset which is a poor overclocker.

I wouldn't feel comfortable overclocking on that board due to its 3+1 phase design and no heatsinked VRM's. If you want to try overclocking while keeping stock voltages give it a try, but it may throttle you before too long.

That was my belief but it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion

Oh and yes 3+1 phase designs are VERY bad for overclocking. 4+1 is passable.

Oh well I was just wondering is all, I don't feel like I need to overclock so that's why I chose a low end motherboard in the first place but if down the line I need more performance I will just upgrade the motherboard and get a new cpu maybe even dab into the intel side of things.

Well the 6300 is a very capable processor and good overclocker so a board like the GA-970A-UD3 or something more like the M5A99X EVO would even support a higher end AMD processor down the line as well as overclocking the one you already have.

Don't you have to buy Windows again when upgrading a motherboard though? One of the reasons I like AMD; the longevity of their sockets. Is AM3+ going beyond Steamroller, or is that the end of its life?
