I jailbroke my ipod 2g running FW 4.2.1 a while ago and It ran super slow from the moment I jailbroke it. Also apps would not open(started happening recently) so I decided to restore it but I want a different jailbreaker. Last time I used GreenP0ison because it was the only one with an untethered 4.2.1 jailbreak.

Your best bet is to just get a newer iDevice. The 2G is going to go slow regardless of what jailbreak you use, etc. A jailbroken iPhone 4S is still incredibly slow.

I used to use redsn0w. I liked it for the most part.

Get a iOs 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 IPSW, and install that on your device. Then getting Evasi0n, its literally the easiest and fasted jailbreak, just plug in your device, wait 30 seconds, restart and your done.

I have an Iphone 4 and it runs fine unjailbroken I am only jailbreaking my ipod 2g because I really have no use for it and want to find out some cool things to use it for

My ipod will only go up to FW 4.2.1 I cant update it any more

The software/program you used won't effect the speed of your device after the jailbreak. Your device is just to old to run it smoothly. If you still want to jailbreak I recommend using greenpois0n again for an untethered jailbreak and only install the packages and a few you want from Cydia.

So try not to overload your iPod 2g with loads of tweaks/packages just things you need/really want.
