The first is the Asus X55CA-DB71. It has an intel 3rd gen i7 processor, 8 Gb or Ram and 1 Tb or storage with an Intel GMA HD graphics card.
The second is the Asus A55VD-AH71. It has an intel i7 processor, 8 GB or Ram and 750 GB of storage with a Nvidia GT 610M graphics card.
They are both the same price(basically) and I know the graphics cards aren't top of the line. I didn't care much for hardcore computer games on the highest settings I just want to play Gmod and maybe some larger games(but rarely). My question is, which one should I get if I need it mainly for college papers/classes and web browsing and light gaming(college first). I suppose a better way of asking is, are the graphics cards different enough to even bother getting the A55? If I could get some guidance that would be great bc I know so little about computers

I would go with the Asus A55VD-AH71. That seems to be the better PC out of the 2. ;)

-BaseBand wrotethanks for the feedback but the only difference is the graphics card. Does the A55 have that much of a better card to sacrifice the 250 GB or storage? I'm not familiar with all the different cards so I'm curiousCuddles1394 wrote The first is the Asus X55CA-DB71. Asus A55VD-AH71. You are better off getting this, that computer will run Gmod like its nothing. It will run alot of games you are wanting like its nothing. To be honest if you are going to be carrying it around alot you might also want to consider weight

Well, 250GB equals to about 35 minutes of raw uncompressed video at 1080p. I would HEAVILY suggest getting a desktop at your price range.

Cuddles1394 wroteI would get a tablet then. Buy yourself a nice desktop for like $500 and spend about $100 on a good tablet. You said you want to play games. Not on a laptop for $600...Parecy wrote Well, 250GB equals to about 35 minutes of raw uncompressed video at 1080p.
