Game Information
Name: Dishonored
Genre: Adventure, Stealth.
Release Date: October 12 2012 (EU)
Console(s): Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
Developers: Arkane Studios
Publishers: Bethesda Softworks
Age rating: 18+
Modes: Single-player
Synopsis
You are the once trusted bodyguard of the Empress. Framed for her murder and driven by revenge, you must become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card.
As you navigate a world torn apart by plague and oppressed by a government armed with strange new technologies, the truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city.
The choices you make will determine the fate of the world, but no matter what happens your old life is gone forever.
Plot
The plot of Dishonored is that you are Corvo Attano the long serving bodyguard of the Empress Jessamine Kaldwin, but as you return from a long voyage you watch your Mistress die at the hands of strange men, and they also kidnap the Empress' daughter. Using the new skills you have earned from the Outsider who brands you with his infamous Tattoo which gives you a new power, which can then make you teleport short distances. He will also give you a heart which can help you find Runes (Runes give you the ability to buy new powers and upgrade powers) and Bone charms (Bone charms give you certain abilitys you can use, for example i use bone charms which have powers containing "Consuming white rats gives you extra MANA"). You will then use these powers to progress through the game killing targets, and rescuing loved ones from evil oppressors. All of this to save the Empress' Daughter Emily, who, once saved, will be rightfully put on the throne.
Gameplay
Dishonored only has one game mode, single player. This consists of Missions given to you by Admiral Havelock such as, Assasinate *Important Guy* so that the empire will fall (for example) but during these missions you will have to look for the runes and bone charms that i have previously mentioned that could be hidden anywhere.
In my experience of Dishonored, there is 2 ways you can play it, you can hack and slash and kill every guy who looks at you funny. Which then takes about 4-6 Hours to complete the Campaign.
Or
You can play (i think) the way the dev's intended it to be played, stealthily, picking up all runes and helping all citizens. If you arent interested in playing stealthily, what if i said theres multiple achievements for playing it stealthily and not killing anyone? ;D
Graphics
The graphics on this game are absolutely UNREAL, and by that i mean the game was built on the Unreal Engine 3. The graphics are absolutely perfect for this type of game. Its got the dark and horrible feel, a plague-ridden city should have. All i can say is the graphics are amazing. Go buy it and find out:)
Controls
The controls are good, but could improve. The easy wheel is handy to have your gun, crossbow, Blink and another power on, but say you want to take someone out with a grenade? You will have to press LB and then choose the grenade and the game doesnt pause either whilst your doing this, you're just aimlessly staring at the guard you want to kill whilst his friend walks around the corner and slices you open like a pineapple. Everything else control-wise is easy, same controls as an fps really.
Evaluation
I originally bought this game as an Assassins Creed-like game to play until Assassins Creed 3 comes out and i haven't been disappointed at all, its a lot similar to AC-Series and a lot different in the same sense. Its definitely worth 2 or 3 playthroughs to really get a feel of all the game has to offer. Definitely worth a buy. Could be your Christmas bought game:)

dishonored really isnt anything more than an 8/10. i'd give it a 7. reason being, its nothing new or nothing special. but its still worth playing, just not worth 60 dollars. wait for a price drop.
