I am needing a pair of headphones and a sound card.
Headphones
Budget: 150 pounds - $230
Use: Primarily gaming. Listening to music, staying at home, gaming. Will be my primary headset, skype.
Type: Over ear
Listening from: PC Only
DO NOT NEED A MICROPHONE. I WILL BE PURCHASING A USB STUDIO QUALITY MIC.
Sound card
Budget: 70 pounds - $107
Can be internal or external, internal prefered.
For use with the headphones you suggest when answering my headphone request. For use with all of the above, primarily gaming.
Will reward you with 200 rep for helping me choose the headphones.
Thanks a bunch.

USB studio mic? I'm more of a XLR guy myself.
I doubt you'll have the gain up so much that sound from open headphones will be recorded but I'll do mostly closed headphones just in case.
Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohms - Studio headphone as well as a good choice for gaming, comfy, a bit more bass than neutral
Ultrasone HFI580 - Your mileage will vary greatly with this one, buy it at a place with 30 day returns or more is a must, bassy and wide soundstage (which may not work for some)
AKG Q701,K701,K702 - same headphone really, just a slight cosmetic changes and no detachable cable on the K701. Open instead of closed so little isolation and larger leakage. Can be found at around $250
Soundcards I don't have much recommendations, just a FiiO E7 should do

You probably won't find a K701 in your price, so here's the next best thing: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Thank you sir, gone with the following; Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohms and the FiiO E10 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Also, I would go with XLR. But I don't particularly want to purchase an extra XLR decoder type box, unless you can plug XLR straight into my PC I would!
I sent you an F/R, I would love to chat to you about USB/XLR microphones.
Cheers. +200

The new Beyer's COP mic cable could be very useful for adding a mic to headphones with no mics.

Budget: My budget will be $40 maximum.
Music preferences: I tend to listen to a variety sets of genres such as classic rock, alternative, all EDM types of music, and hardly rap.
Type/form-factor: I'm looking for a in ear pair.
Open or closed: I believe I want open? I don't need tons of bass.
Listening from: I'm going to listen with my computer, laptop, and my phone.
Details: I'm looking for a pair that I can purchase from Amazon due to having great shipping. I want my ear phones to have a great set of balance whereas I don't a pair that's for bass heads. I want my sound to be clear and precise as possible. I want a pair that can last me a while meaning I want them to last for a year or longer. Also, can you PM me your suggestions because I don't want to keep checking the thread?
Thanks for everything.

The Xeport 3010 seems to be a better choice for you than the default budget IEM recommendation, the 5010, because it should be less bassy. The're cheap but built well.

Budget: Below $60
Music preferences: Mainly rap and some dubstep/house
Type/form-factor: In-ear
Open or closed: Closed
Listening from: Phone and laptop
Details: If possible I would like volume buttons on the cord. Also they should be able to stay in my ears pretty well and be somewhat durable.
Thanks in advance.
