The battle between factions of AMD & NVIDIA fanboys has been waged for years and continues to this day, you have the people who completely prefer AMD and the people who completely prefer NVIDIA & then there's people like me who are a mixture of both. In my years of gaming I have gone threw and owned a whole slew of gpu's from both AMD & NVIDIA and I can honestly say I love them both. So people from both factions, post your pros and cons of both brands, your likes and dislikes. This battle need's to be settled so we might as well start here on the PC Gaming section of TTG.

To start things off I guess I should list my current GPU in my computer and what side I am leaning towards as of now: Currently I am running 2 AMD Radeon HD 7970's 3GB Edition in CrossfireX. Now that I've finished with that, let the battle's begin!

There is no really superior brand. They both make equally good graphics cards. I would have to go with Nvidia though. Don't really know why.

Btw isn't SLI mode for Nvidia cards and AMD cards use Crossfire?

NVIDIA has higher grade cards in terms of general power but if you spend a little extra cash on a better AMD gpu, 3 out of 5 tines the AMD card will last longer and become an overall better buy.

There should be no debate here really, I hate when people start whole wars over this. Lets weigh up a little here.

AMD:
-Make great cards over high budgets, 7990 out preforms any NVIDIA card in that range
-Works best with AMD processors, so goes well with overclockers
-Outstanding drivers, the 7950 for example

NVIDIA:
-Makes better medium budget cards
-Words best with Intel processors, so goes well with general gamers
-Less heat/noise/power consumption generally than AMD.

I don't have much knowledge as i have only used 1 card and that is my AMD 7770 which was my first card that I got at Christmas and up to now I have had no issues so i would have to go with AMD.

There's no black magic that makes cards work better with certain CPUs and for heat/noise/power, neither is better and it completely depends on the architecture. Both have great drivers, too.

Anyone who actually thinks that either AMD or Nvidia is superior is either uninformed or biased.

Any company would do that if there was a demand for their product and no competition.

OP you should add a "They're both great" option.
