So I came before asking if the build I put together was good but since then I've managed to get more cash, increasing my budget to around $700. On with the build!

What I'm wondering is will the pci 3.0 card work with the pci 2.0 motherboard? Also is the cx500w power supply enough for the fx 6300 and gtx 760.

not starting a fan war but you should go with a i5 2500k, what i had in mine and it was great, and for the rest depends on the usage , i.e. games, software

Why go for the 2600 version of the i5? It's out dated by 2 generations and the FX can be upgraded to something better in the future.

The 2500k goes for around $200 right now, which is way out of my budget. If I were to get an i5 I would have to get a cheaper gpu. This build focuses on gaming, so I assumed paying more for the gpu would be a better move.

Around $700, prefer to not go over that.

Here is a build I just came up...

It's very upgradeable and will play ALL current titles at reasonable settings and with very good FPS, I haven't included an OS as you haven't stated that you need one. Please give feedback if you want me to change anything.

WOW! Right on the dot with $700 haha.

Would there be any benefit to using the fx 6300 with a gtx 760, as opposed to the fx 8320 and gtx 660? Keeping the motherboard you suggested.

I assume with the 760 I'd also need a higher watt psu.

Also I don't need an OS.

The FX-8320 is obviously a better processor, meaning you wont have to upgrade for a while and keeping the PSU and things the same. The GTX 660 is still considered to be a very good card at its price point and will handle most things you throw at it very well. Obviously this means that you can easily upgrade in the future, you could even buy 2 of them and put them in SLI mode. This would mean getting a higher wattage PSU, thus costing a few more dollars, but its worth it.

I agree and disagree on this, and i'll say why. the 6300 and 8320 are both great processors and they are based on the same architecture so you won't see much of a performance difference unless you can utilise both extra cores from the 8320. I love the GTX660 but by taking advantage of Newegg bundle deals theres no reason not to go for a 760 which that budget.
