Why is the Introduce Yourself "Topic Board" even around? How are the posts in that board not considered spam? Considering all the people say are (summarized up) "Hey _____ Welcome to ttg, read the rules and stay active ". So tell me how that is not considered spamming? Since it seems to me like they copy and paste just to get their post count up.

I find it annoying aswell, people just post the same as everyone else to get there psst count up, sometimes the topic creators put "i've read the rules already" and users replied "welcome...please read the rules."

When people respond, no matter what they say, it makes the new user feel welcomed and heightens the likelihood that they will be an active member.

I don't use the typical response either. I'll say welcome and then ask a question based off of there username or something.

I try to make people feel welcome and in need of someone to talk to, so whenever I see a new member I be friendly and offer them help through the PM system.

I don't do it for post count. That means nothing for me, but if I get up a rank its nice to post in the milestones.

Yeah no shi*, but please explain to me how it's not considered spam? I've seen numerous times where people copy n paste in every topic the same thing.

pretty sure id they constantly post the same thing it is spam...

everyone looks at the people who post in there constantly as pure spammers.

spamming the introduce yourself section will not get you very far on the site. post count might be high, but if your last 10 activitiesare in that ssection you get 0 respect.

Yeah it may be all spam but it does encourage some users to be more active and it makes them feel welcome so it isn't all bad so in some way all the spam does help.
