This is just a rumor so don't go jumping up and down because one of your favorite games is in there. Or get the pitchforks ready because you hate the games.
wrote As spotted by NeoGaf, Polish gaming website Xbox 360 Online Center is claiming information from "a reliable source" that August's offerings will be Capcom's Dead Rising 2 and the very popular Xbox 360 exclusive Crackdown.
Crackdown, of course, is the open world third person action game from 2007 where you play a super-powered Agent dealing with the unsavoury element of Pacific City - or more accurately, bouncing around a massive city playground collecting orbs and throwing cars at unsuspecting criminals. The more recent Dead Rising 2 has a similar open-world shtick, only you're dealing with hordes of zombies as motorcyclist Chuck Greene in a Las-Vegas inspired city while trying to protect your daughter from becoming a member of the undead. While dressed in a mankini, if you choose.
There's no info on which one we'll get first, or indeed if this information is accurate but we'll let you know when we hear any confirmation from Microsoft on our continually updated list of free games and don't forget to let us know which games you'd like to see turn up on the Games with Gold scheme.
In the meantime, will you be picking up these two free games? Are they better or worse offerings than we've seen so far? Sound off in the comments.

oh yea if you haven't played it suggest you do i know dead rising 1 has one of the hardest achievements on Xbox called 7 day survivor you gotta survive in mall for a week oh, and you can't save your game. It's a one shot deal. You die, power goes out, Xbox locks up, kangaroo kicks the power cord out of the wall, Mom bursts in your room and shuts off the box because you didn't finish your homework and you're always playing those **** games...anything that causes the game to go off and you have to start over. It's 2 hours per day so we are talking about 14 hours straight. You can pause the game to take a break, but then you run the risk of something horrible happening.lol
