How do you change the currency back to pounds and not Indian money, tried everything and it won't let me redeem a code on it

If you put India as your location while making the account i'm not 100% sure but i think you have to ring Microsoft to get your account emigrated to your location.

i did this and it worked but cant change it back for three months
