I thought Halo 3 was supposed to be free in July, but it wasn't.

Maybe it will be free next month, although I think it will be something else.

That's M$ for ya. They were supposed to give us Halo 3 anyways, but two actual games is too much of a burden for cash strapped M$.

I've heard L4D may be one of them.

Yes they said they were going to give us halo 3 as one of the free games for gold back at E3, but they didn't say a specific date so its up to them if they want to release it later rather than sooner
