My friend told me that Steam has a download cap when downloading games he said there is something where you can download the games at the full potential of your internet speed is this true?

When i download a game from Steam, it goes as fast as my internet allows! 2.2 megabytes/s.
So unless the cap is above that, then no it doesn't.

There is no cap on the download rate, it all depends on your download rate.

I live with my grandparents and they are stubborn about upgrading things

Yeah the thing is when I did get them to upgrade they didnt even upgrade that much Its better but it doesnt feel like I wanted it to be

Theres no cap that i know, maybe there is but it has to be pretty damn high as im downloading my games at 64mbps average.

Make sure your download region set to the place closest to you so speeds are quicker and more efficient.

Yeah Like Zeff Said because I download at max 23mb/s
Possibly more if I reset my router then downloaded.
