People are so paranoid now-a-days about that stuff. Even if the Government/NSA is spying on us, what information do they intend to get? "Oh look, he rages at Halo. Thats something we can use for government purposes, right?" I mean come on. The fact that Microsoft CONFIRMED you can completely shut off the Kinect at the setup of the Xbox One, and that it only understands certain voice commands, and people still choose to believe we're being spied on. Grow up.

(and Yes, the Kinect can detec you in the dark via "nightvision" if thats what you want to call it)

The Kinect 2.0 looks pretty good, and it looks like it will have a lot of features.

I highly doubt they are spying on us with it, honestly that's pretty stupid. Even if they are they won't find anything.

IMO i think "kids" hate on the kinect for one reason only it makes the xbox one cost more. They are mad that there parents wont shell out another $100 so they decide to stick with ps4 and start to bash on xbox and make alot of excuses on why they wont buy the xbox one.

Why would they take the time to spy on millions of 12 year old kids play cod lol personally all they'd find is me smoking on some ganja!

I get we live in times where the government is not the most trustable group of people, but honestly? Spying on people playing games? Pointless and to me they wouldn't even waste time. Now, on to the actual Kinect. This is amazing technology. People say it's going to suck before you even use it? Retarded.

Let's look at some of the things the Kinect 2.0 can do:

First off, it can sense many people in a room. I can't remember the exact number, maybe 8 or so, but don't quote me on that.
It can scan facial features onto games. That's incredible. It can make your character look like you.
Saying certain phrases can make the xbox respond and do what you say.
2 HD Microphones
I believe it also has nightvision/infared. Someone verify/deny?
From recent news, it can even sense when you hand the controller over to someone else and enable their account to be logged in.
Can sense hand gestures and make the xbox respond to it.
Much, much more.

Personally, I think people don't like it because they are scared of it in a way. We are heading into the future you guys. You know those Sci-Fi movies where they have pieces of glass and they can control it with their hand gestures? This is where it begins as far as console gaming is concerned. You control a device without even touching it. People are not used to this & so they may not like the change. They are scared to go from generic controller to something more advanced. I get that. But come on guys, the Kinect 2.0 has amazing technological capabilities. So I don't get why people say it sucks/hate on it so much. Who knows?

The reason why so many people dislike it is because the first kinect was a total waste of money and just a complete pile of crap. They promised features and games for it which were not true. The microphone just ruined party chat and the kinect was crap at sensing people.

I know you have listed a lot of features of what it can do but they may not all be entirely true and a lot of them you could do with the current kinect however it was bad at doing it.

This is jsut your list compared with the first kinect:

I think it is 9 people from what I can remember. And yes, it night vision. Are people really still whining about them "watching you"? Jeez. Why would they possibly want to do that? Not to mention it is beyond illegal. I doubt they want to watch 14 year old kids play CoD.
