was loking at the cyberpower battalion 502 but it has windows 8 and it's not optimized for gaming

It is not worth it, these companies get the parts in bulk and therefore cheap.
Your paying a lot more for someone's work for an hour, maybe 2.
If you find a pre built one that you are willing to buy, then if you Googled the parts, it is almost guaranteed you can get it a lot cheaper.

Don't buy a stock PC, they always cheap out on parts.
GPU might have bad cooling
Bad PSU's
There is so many other problems, for 500 you could get an OK pc built.
It is not hard to build a PC.
