By then we'll have a lot more technology that will allow us to reach deeper into the ground. I'm not worried.

Amon wrote if we run out of oil, we cant cook.

Yes you can, it's called start a fire and put a pan over it.

We will probably switch off to propane next, as we have a lot of it on Earth. there is a lot of Oil in Alaska and Canada that we cannot touch.

Well there COULD be huge oil fields in Antarctica. We just need permission to mine it.
There is a contract that say most countries own it and are not allowed to excavate for oil. I think that whichever country could get permission could control a very large share in the oil market and basically set prices to their will.

In the midwest of North America, there is enough oil to provide for the entire world for over 2000 years.

to be honest. even if we do run out of oil and find an alternative, we will eventually run out of resources. Then there will be chaos just like you see in all these "End of the world" shows and movies. The fact of the matter is we will eventually use up all the earths resources and its not to long from now. so when people say doomsday is upon us or near. Don't assume them to be crazy they are correct. Its near probably less than 500 years. may seem like a long time but since the earth has been around for 4.54 billion years that's nothing. Instead of preserving resources like we should have now we will most likely face hardships in the future. Karma?

It's kind of impossible for oil to disappear because we get are oil from everything from millions of years ago and everything that was around at that time eventually decomposed into oil at its own time so the fact that we might lose oil is almost impossible and probably never happen. I learned this in biology last year in my junior year.

No. We are not anywhere near running out of anything. The same thing goes with the drinkable water problem, we can always purify ocean water if it comes down to it, no matter what the expense. They have also said we will eventually run out of trees, which is also not true. Don't you see all the woods, and everything else all over the place?
