Okay, I've come to realize why I like terrible rappers like: 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Chief Keef, A$AP Ferg, etc. It's cause how catchy the beat is, It'll get you hyped and it'll get stuck in your head. Songs like Work (REMIX) by A$AP Ferg are like pump-up songs. Don't get me wrong, I like good rappers too, such as Nas, Big L, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, and who could forget Tupac and Biggie. But still, I make due with the shi**y rappers til a good one comes around like Kendrick/J. Cole. Thoughts? Opinions? Anyone else get where I'm coming from?

There is so much truth in this.
I notice this in a lot of songs, the lyrics will be bad, but the song will be catchy.

We are at the day and age where rap has no substance. It sucks but it wasn't as bad as when rappers like Soulja Boy were around

Yea i agree. I only listen to Chief Keef when i am working out. His lyrics blow but the beats are catchy. I NEVER listen to WAKA. He sucks. However, 2 Chainz lyrics are just catchy. SO i guess you can say that he is a decent rapper. But only J Cole and Kendrick are the only "new" rappers that i enjoy listing too. But of course you can't forget about the rappers who been in the game for a bit; like Lil Wayne, Kanye, etc... They all have amazing lyrics. Especially, Lil Wayne. lol He's metaphors / similes are just legendary.

Cyimking wroteI don't think Lil Wayne is good at all...He used to be raw, Like every album before Tha Carter 2 he was dope. Ever since he made that bulls*it excuse for a rap group YMCMB hes been awful.MMFWCLxJUGGALO1 wrote Okay, I've come to realize why I like terrible rappers like: 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Chief Keef, A$AP Ferg, etc. It's cause how catchy the beat is, It'll get you hyped and it'll get stuck in your head. Yeah I have to agree with this. An example is Bubblebutt, which is probably one of the funniest music videos I've seen.
Although it still is no excuse to listen to Lil Wayne.

I kind of like Wiz Khalifa but he falls into this category where the beats in his songs make up for the poor lyrics.

Funny thing is, they don't even create the beats. Their producers do while they sit on their ass and earn more money. Really sad actually. That's why you see so many producers go independant.
