My old computer a Dell Inspiron 1545 is Currently using Windows Vista and I am thinking about Downgrading to Windows XP or upgrading to Windows 8 (I own Both Already)
Which OS should I use Windows Xp,Vista, or 8?
(Note: I do not care about losing any files)
My Specs:
Dell Inspiron 1545
32 bit
3gb RAM
210Gb Hard Drive
Celeron(R) Dual-Core CPU T3000 @1.80GHz 1.79 GHz

I would suggest downgrading to windows xp. Using a copy of windows 8 on that junk pc would not only be a waste of money, but it would not perform very well.

Why would it not perform well, I have exactly the same laptop with Windows 8 and performs fine for me...

The Laptop is not junk, it wasn't made to play games or do intense video editing. Just for everyday normal use, like it says in the description when you go to purchase it.

But is it really worth buying windows 8 when xp will run better?

OP, if you're only going to be browsing, an even more suitable option would be to install Ubuntu 12.04: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

How will XP run better? Windows 8 is better optimized and is newer.

This and XP is currently being phased out. All support will stop in 2014 and virtually no new games/software are compatible (e.g. Hitman Absolution).

I would use Windows 7 or 8, 7 because it is currently the most compatible but 8 because it will become the most compatible.
