I'm pretty sure they are the ones that win the pick number giveaways. Lucky I guess but I can understand how members that have been here for a while that aren't gold find it a little bit unfair.

It's just gold, I've never had it before and it doesn't bother me. It's just a feature that enriches your experience on TTG.
I think it's a bit silly to get/have gold as soon as you join, but that's just my opinion. :p

anyone can gift who ever they want.

it doesnt matter if they are a 5 yr member or a 5 minute member, they can get gifted.

you never know why they were gifted. for all you know their best friend who asked them to join the site gifted them.
