Hey TTG. This is for those who constantly say Ghosts is the same old stuff as last year.
First off: Just so we're clear. I am not a COD fanboy. I am not a IW fanboy, in fact, I prefer 3arc over IW. So I am not a fanboy of either. I just like COD as a franchise.
Okay, so to all of you saying Ghosts is the same old stuff we've had every year. We get it. It looks the same. So does every major-selling game out there. It's like this: Every game looks the same generally, but implements a few new features and a slightly new look. But FPS games are limited on that aspect. BATTLEFIELD 4, for example, isn't a whole new game. It looks similar to BF3, just new features and a slight new look and graphics update. That's the same Ghosts will be. It's very hard to re-imagine a first person shooter game without taking it out of the military-style gameplay COD has today. If we make the maps really big, it won't have the fast-paced style people enjoy call of duty for. It will turn into a wannabe-battlefield. Or, if we go too far into the future, it will be a wannabe-halo. See what I mean? COD is very limited on how it can change, game wise. As far as gameplay goes, it's all up to the players. People are gonna spam with shotties and quickscope and camp. There is NOTHING IW can do to completely end this. Get over it.
Just a few things off the top of my head Ghosts has changed to give it a slight new edge from MW3 and BO2/previous COD titles:
New storyline.
New killstreaks.
New guns.
New maps.
(basic stuff that comes with every COD).
Over 20,000 customization options ranging from skin color, gender, hairstyles, camo, etc.
New sniper zoom/ADS.
New maps that can be destroyed and change as you play.
Female soldiers. (Way overdue)
New graphics engine.
New gun class. Marksman rifles.
New create-a-class.
New way to prestige. 1 prestige for every character.
Making your squad.
New game modes (Search and Rescue, Hunted, etc)
Possible new game type (Maybe Special Op or something like that.)
Mantling
Sliding
Tilting
Emblem creator possibly. (New for IW games.)
Squad points.
New/improved HUD screen.
These are just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more I'm missing. But it's 12am here and I'm tired.
As you can see, though, Ghosts is going in the right direction. It's becoming better and it's far from the same as BO2/MW3. It looks/feels the same, we get it. But you can't change it too much without it not really being the COD we know anymore. I mean, look at GTA5 and Battlefield 4. Both are, in theory, the same as the last one. GTA- Open world, do whatever you want, kill cops/hookers, blow shit up, etc. It has the same thing as the last game, just improved, better graphics, and new features. Just like COD. But because a FPS multiplayer is limited, everyone assumes it's the same as last year. It is, basically, but it's improved and better. The story mode is always different, and if you don't like multiplayer when it comes out, don't play it. Play what you want. But remember: Don't hate on a game you haven't even played yet. Especailly not on the new consoles. /rant
