Today I broke my S4 screen but it works fine it would only need the glass replacing right? As the touchpad and LCD seems to be fine!

If the LCD and touchscreen still work fine you could just replace the Glass!
In most cases it is 20 times easier just to replace the whole lot though!
If you want to replace just the Glass things start getting really complicated!

To add on to what Ben said, replacing just that top layer of glass is difficult to do without damaging the display or digitizer. If you do remove it successfully without damaging anything then you have to clean up the OCA which can scratch the display and also make the touch sensitivity go berserk.

Just save yourself the time and money you would waste on a glass lens just to end up with a broken display and go ahead and buy a full lens+AMOLED assembly.
