I have been in the news section for months as I have been working on MVC and MVC+ and it seems to me that the section has been seeing more and more spam. If you look at any of the stories you will see most of the comments are only a few words long and they really don't pertain to the subject. All the comments on there are either long flame wars about how the Xbox is better then the Playstation or people just giving one or two word comments to get the MVC badge. I even sometimes look at some of the users commenting and watch how many they get in a day, and they are doing like 75-100 comments a day.

I know there are a few exceptions to the rule where people do thoughtful comments but they are rare. I don't even understand how people do it with the 60 second spam filter, it is a million times easier to post a thoughtful comment and then by the time you post it the filter time should be up. Also there are many people who post twice right next to each other, one time commenting on the post and another time replying to someone else's comment, so they end up doing two comments when they could just as easily have combined it into one comment and not boost both their comment/post count.

Another thing that really bothers me is when people on a story just post something like "can't wait" and their will literally be 20 comments in a row about/saying the same thing. I feel like sometimes that if there wasn't an MVC badge their wouldn't be anyone in the News section at all, and I know that is one of the reasons why they made the badge in the first place.

It really sucks that most people are just spamming to get the MVC badge because they believe that it is the easiest badge to get. I truly enjoy the news section and if people contribute to the conversation a bit more, it would be even better. If you have a second in your day then just go into the news section and look at some of the comments and you will see what I mean. Thanks for reading and listening through this long rant.
